The Cinematic Trinity:
Filmmaker + Industry + Audience
Our guiding philosophy to help filmmakers merge their creative and business development using their films on the premiere film festival circuit
We start with your voice to create personalized, bespoke campaigns designed to help you reach your goals/expectations for your film, and for yourself. We help you merge your creative and business development, expand your reach, and meet your audiences.
We bring the best Emerging Talent directly to you.
We forge, build, matchmake new relationships between filmmakers and the established film community.
"Film, CINEMA, breeds understanding, empathy, curiosity. It validates acceptance, experience, identity. It formalizes perspective and inspires action. It shines the light on the underserved while exposing the hypocrisy of the over-served. It demands VOICE. Cinema demands participation in the human condition. Visual storytelling is our modern vehicle for the mythology that helps us make sense of the senseless, every single day." --Kathleen McInnis, February 2024
After 30 years of experience discovering and presenting emerging world cinema talent to audiences at A-List festivals worldwide, Kathleen McInnis now helps those filmmakers translate their own artistic language into top-tier marketing language they can use to merge their creative and business development at festivals such as Toronto, Cannes, Berlin, Sundance, Rotterdam, and Karlovy Vary, among many others.
Kathleen began her festival career at the Seattle Int’l Film Festival (Director of Publicity & Marketing, Director of Industry Programming, Lead Programmer) before going to Palm Springs ShortFest, first as Film Curator and then Festival Director. She was invited by Toronto (TIFF) to help shape the first-ever International section of ShortCuts; programed shorts at Hot Docs, and served as Artistic Director of Aspen ShortsFest. Kathleen curated the Seattle Int’l Film Festival’s New Works-in-Progress Forum and has consulted with Tribeca shorts programming. She currently consults on Industry Programming for Kortfilmfestivalen (Norwegian Int'l Film Festival).
Kathleen is a member of AMPAS (The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences), BAFTA, IDA, Film Independent, and WGA-w (her most recent script with co-writer Katherine Lindberg, "Forgotten", is under option at GameChanger). She has taught and been on faculty at UCLA and NYU-Tisch/Asia film schools. She was the first "film festival strategist" at Loyola Marymount University.
Kathleen has participated as a festival strategist and project development mentor at the Sundance Indigenous Lab, Buenos Aries Labs, Hot Docs Int’l Film Festival, Koszalin Film Festival for Debut Filmmakers, IFFR’s CineMart, and with Talents at the Berlin Film Festival, as well as presented keynote speeches at Winterthur International ShortFilm Festival and Kreativni Evropa-Media’s Intelligent Audience Design, among many others.
A chance encounter at the 1992 Sundance Film Festival would be the genesis for Kathleen’s philosophy, The Cinematic Trinity. She continues to strive towards making the perfect match between film artist and audience.
